Thanks for the help. Something else that I found worked was to specifically upgrade the kernel only, which didn't throw errors, then I did the standard yum updated and all worked fine.
What is the skip-broken-dependencies plugin? I have tried googling for it but only got 2 hits, both of which said to install it, but didn't tell me what the package was..
I tried yum install skip-broken-dependencies but needless to say it didn't work. Is it just yum-plugins?
