You may have to take steps like replacing your 2.4 GHz cordless phones with 5.8 GHz models but they're dirt cheap now ($30 at Circuit City for example), especially compared to the cost of a MythTV setup.

In a perfect world it can barely do HD with a single client and no
neighbors for 200 yards however in the real world you would need to
replace your phone, all your neighbors phones and their wireless routers
with some other technology not to mention all the many other devices
that run on the 2.4GHz band. So except for the very lucky, wireless G is
not an option for HD. Wireless N and N+ networks however are a different
matter. They run at 4 times the power and use a completely different
encoding method for ~8 times the bandwidth and much greater immunity to
interference. They should be able to handle multiple HD streams sent to
different clients.
