Basically, we are going to customer sites with servers that normally
have no monitor. Sometimes we perform things that cannot be accessed
remotely (BIOS updates, troubleshooting during boottime, etc...)
Remote access to a working machine is never an issue, we've got that
nailed 100%.

This is only necessary when we are doing things that MUST be done on
the console, regardless of the operating system, or type of machine
(server, workstation, Windows, Linux, etc...).

The common thing is a VGA port on whatever system we're working on.

We even have customers drop off machines that we work on, and we just
don't want to be hauling monitors/lcds/etc... around to work on them.

We've gone the route that someone suggested, using a VGA adapter and a
USB capture device, I've got some items on order for that.

We've got about 100 customers that we service in different locations,
so things like KVMs with web access, etc... are not going to be a good
solution because they are customer specific.

I was just curious if anyone out there had seen any other solutions
that might be handy.

Thanks for all the input everyone! Perhaps this is a device I should make! :)
