I responded to the ticket.  Just wondering what sort of backend/flash
interaction you were looking for since you mention in the ticket that ffmpeg
won't be in the final solution?

As you know, flash/flex/as3 compile to flash 9, but openlazslo can compile
to flash 7 and 8 (and 9 is coming).  Flash 9 is vastly superior to previous
versions though (huge increases in speed).  I had to investigate OL vs. Flex
for a project at work.
