[mythtv-users] What does the mythtv-vid branch and OpenGL renderer have to offer

I've tried to find some info on the various SVN branches of Mythtv without a
whole lot of luck.. I would have thought that there would be some reference
to this info on the wiki but no such luck... I'm guessing the branches are a
test bed for large code changes that nee o be well tested prior to a
proposed integration into the main trunk code??

One of my patches to SVN trunk which hugely improved my playback on my
interlaced tv was rejected and and marked invalid and i was refered to the
mythtv-vid branch...

What is the purpose of the mytht-vid branch??

What do the new opengl-renderer patches offer???

From what I can understand, the 3D engine of the video card will be used to
assist with video playback (which should be a good thing right??) but now
all of a sudden one needs a Geforce 6200 as a minimum just to playback SD
material, whereas a GF4 series was fine before...

If anyone can shed some light on these topics I would be grateful...

Viktor
