I already log frontend output to a log file and nothing is showing up
there.   The batteries have been changed and testing with irw shows it is
not the remote and it is not lircd.  It works fine for a long period of time
and then seems to quit only during playback.  Unfortunately I do not have
another serial port to try on this machine.
