All the advice on getting a good modeline says to use Powerstrip to
get a working config on Windows and then copy & paste that modeline.
So I did that. I actually had 4 resolutions:
800x600, 1024x768 plus 2 higher resolutions that worked on Win2K but
were rejected by X-Windows. I'd be happy if I could just get these 2
working.
800x600 does work but 1024x768 gives me a "No PC Signal" message on
the TV and nothing is displayed. There's no error in Xorg.0.log and it
says that both modes are validated and "Setting mode 1024x768". So it
all looks like it should be working but there's no signal to the TV.
I'm connecting PC to TV using the VGA port. The card is a Gigabyte
nVidia FX5200. The TV is Panasonic 50" plasma. model TH-50PX600A.
I thought if you got a Powerstrip modeline you'd be home and hosed.
Regards,
Phill
