Hello,
I was under the impression that ffmpeg had support for playing an rtjpeg
.nuv videos produced by mythtv. However, when I try playing such a file
using mplayer (which uses ffmpeg for the decoding and specifically notes
its "NuppelVideo/MythTV demuxer and RTJpeg decoder", I get a blank
screen for video (although sound works fine). The same thing happens
with the ffplay decoder included with ffmpeg. Here's the output from
mplayer:
Playing 2000_20070210103000.nuv.
NuppelVideo file format detected.

vlc doesn't even get that far, crashing with a "main decoder error: no
suitable decoder module for fourcc `RJPG'".
The problem occurs on both FC5 and FC6 systems. (On the FC5 system, the
ffmpeg version is 0.4.9-0.23.20060817 from livna.) Am I missing
something (e.g., command line options) here? Is there a way to do this
without transcoding?
Barring this, what is the preferred way to view videos downloaded via
mythweb?
Thanks for your help.
