You should first check whether your cable service actually has digital
streams. If your local cableco provides HD channels or premium channels
to a set top box, then you will be receiving digital streams which the
HDHomeRUn, the HD3000 and its successor the HD5500 can tune, unencode
and pass to your hard drive.
