[mythtv-users] Myth noob, cannot find file

Hi all,

I've been having trouble getting manually scheduled recordings working with
my myth set-up. I'm not using mythweb to schedule the recordings, just the
normal frontend. I had the same problem with version 0.19, I check through
the mail archives and could not find reference to the scenario I was
encountering and can only presume I'm stuffing up some part of the
configuration. If there is a pointer to a thread that I might of missed or
someone could give me a pointer to what I'm doing wrong- it would be greatly
appreciated.

The entire system works pretty good except for this scheduling problem, with
only a bit of jittery action occuring on live tv viewing which I'm guessing
is just a system tuning issue (that I've already had some success
resolving). Recording works fine, (I'm just doing a manual schedule, and not
using a xml tv guide - just the time) if the recoding is within roughly 2
hours of the machine not being idle. That is to say if I have a program
scheduled in 5 hours time and 30 minutes before it is due to record I wake
the machine up by doing something - it records, but anything after the
machine becomes idle it will not record.

If I try to view the scheduled recording myth will respond with a window
that says "can not find file".

I tried basic stuff like the permissions and owners of the path, and
ensuring the database user (mythtv) had appropriate "granted permissions" in
the sql database. I also tried using umask 011 before executing the backend
with no luck there and running the back and front end as 'root' and 'mythtv'
(the myth user for the system).

I saw some references to deleting the chanels and video sources, and tried
that out too, but no luck there either. Also I've set my starting channel to
2 (I'm in australia) but not entirely sure what the starting channel should
be.

My machine is a 2.8Ghz 4Gb, nVidia 6600. Data drive is on a secondary IDE
interface and it's FC5. I compiled myth 0.20a and the myth plugins. I used
the QT packages included in the fedora install (mainly because I couldn't
get the mysql plugins to compile).

The section below is from the mythbackend log of a recording that failed,
Thanks in advance, myth is a great project.
