Even the BBC article says this is not true: "a hacker had managed
to decrypt some discs and other people were now able to make copies
of certain titles" and "It does not represent an attack on the AACS
system itself". Basically, the keys of some titles have been extracted
from the runtime memory of a software player, allowing those disks to
be decrypted. This is NOT like the cracking of CSS, where a short key
length combined with weaknesses in the algorithm allow one to do a
brute-force attack on any disk. Also, BluRay has an additional
protection mechanism which AFAIK has not been compromised yet.
