[mythtv-users] Any way to pay?

Hello.

Here's an idea:

What if we had a setup where zap sent its epg data to just one myth server,
and all us myth users download from that server? Since zap seemed to
indicate that the reason they are cutting the free service was from abuse
and whatnot, they would not have to worry about that or about server strain
if their info was being downloaded from some 3rd party server.

Any thoughts on that?
-Thanks
-Steve

Hmmmm, ya know, it just occured to me, there is complete data for all
stations and all providers inserted into MOST (Including mine.) PBS stations

signals. I carry it as a data PID on my digital station and as VBI data on
my analog station. It's provided by Gemstar/TV Guide and we just pass it on

through. Not sure what their usage policy is on the data or if there's a
subscription fee for it but I can sure find out if it would be helpful.

Indeed. One of the ideas posited, which I liked a lot, was in fact to go to
the PBS affils first.
