If you put the irexec blocks in the correct file location (~/.lircrc)
it should work.
Many LIRC-related problems in MythTV are due to it using a standard
LIRC config file in a non-standard location (~/.mythtv/lircrc). This
causes problems when using other LIRC-aware programs such as irxevent,
irexec, xine, and mplayer which expect a LIRC config in the standard
location. This happens when the user forgets (or isn't aware of the
need) to create a symlink back to the LIRC standard config location to
cater for their other LIRC clients.
You can also start irexec with a specific config file, but as new
versions of MythTV support using the standard LIRC config file
(~/.lircrc) since http://cvs.mythtv.org/trac/changeset/11252 you only
need keep a single copy of your LIRC config in ~/.lircrc.
