Sounds like OpenGL isn't working. You can either turn off OpenGL
(check the archives on how to do this from the command line - it
escapes me at the moment) or get OpenGL to work correctly. The latter
is probably a better idea since you will want it to work at some
point. :) I do know that using the mvidia binaries is the way to go,
so if you're using the nv open source driver, switch to the nvidia one.
