[mythtv-users] AMD64 3000+ MythDora watching HD causes Lag and system crash?

Hello everyone,

After much tinkering with Ubuntu and regular Fedora 6 + MythTV... I decided to settle with mythdora.

My system specs are as follows:

AMD64 3000+ (around 2.0GHz)
1GB DDR
300GB SATA (drive containing recordings and whatnot)
120GB IDE (drive for / and most system files)
pcHDTV 5500 HDTV PCI Tuner card
nVidia 7600 AGP w/ HDTV support (whatever that means...)

So here is the problem: Once I tune to a channel, and there are fast scenes of frames with a lot of data to be changed, I get major visual lag on the TV, and eventually the system freezes due to it somehow filling up all it's disk space... (which doesn't make sense to me, it should have plenty)

Is the CPU too weak for HD content or do I have something setup incorrectly? It seems that I have something funny with the disk space as well...

Some other issues that I am having:
1. Sound doesn't work in MythTV (whereas it works outside of MythTV). I can't seem to configure it to the built in soundcard. Where is this setup?

2. Screen resolution on a 52" HDTV DLP... What is the correct resolution for running in 1080i/1080p? If I am using a DVI->HDMI cable, should the computer detect the TV's settings in most cases?

Thanks greatly,

Jonathan
