I have identical versions now, with no improvement. (Just upgraded mesa.)

xvinfo reports:

mythtv at moocher:~$ xvinfo -display :0 | grep Adapt
  Adaptor #0: "Intel(R) Textured Video"
  Adaptor #1: "Intel(R) Video Overlay"

and mythfrontend reports that it is using the textured video adapter.

Is it possible to override this? Is it even worth trying?

Thanks for your configuration file. Most of the things I didn't have
seem to be defaults now anyway. I thought the AccelMethod EXA looked
promising but I didn't see any change.

I notice you are running 32-bit while I am running 64-bit. It shouldn't
be relevant and it's not really something I can try readily. This makes
it harder to compare the kernel configuration files but I'll try later.

thanks,
Hamish
