Haven't seen what a kid can do a DVD?  It's a lot nicer to rip the DVD to 
myth and just let them select it from the menu whenever they want to watch 
it.  Not to mention the lazy factor of not having to get up and actually 
put the DVD in everytime you want to watch something....:)
