I'm using a Linksys NSLU2 (slug) to do something similar. Works quite  
well but it's slow. I'll have to look into FreeNAS as I'd really like  
something faster but still small and low-power.

I was going to dig out my old Cobalt Qube 2 and see what I could do  
with that.
