[mythtv-users] mceusb2 transmit problems

Hm - yes, the blaster LED has a visible feedback LED as well as 
(possibly integral to) the IR device on the end that gets stuck to the 
controlled box.  If it isn't blinking, then it isn't being addressed at 
all.  I'm not certain that the blaster and receiver functions are 
completely tied together - it may be that the driver is falling back to 
a baseline mceusb set of functionality without transmitter capability.

FWIW, I'm using a lirc build I compiled from the lirc CVS tree - my 
transceiver is detected as a SMK eHome, which appears to have been added 
after 0.8.1 - I'd suggest trying out the current HEAD... I checked out 
my tree on Jan 26, in case you'd like to try duplicating it...

On another note, I had a *terrible* time getting the receiver to grok my 
cable box remote - none of the examples worked and irrecord wasn't able 
to learn the whole thing - I ended up starting with a pronto recipe and 
hand-tuning a lirc recipe based on the pronto timings - then I was able 
to get irrecord to learn the critical keys (0-9 and enter)...
