[mythtv-users] OT: Linux hard drive utilities

In an effort to diagnose a Mythbackend crash (I found "TFW, Error: Write()
-- IOBOUND end"
in my logs), I took a closer look at my hard drives using Webmin and SMART.


One of them had:

*Raw Read Error Rate* 81736658
...
*Seek Error Rate* 342470387
...
*Hardware ECC Recovered* 81736658

While I understand nobody can predict hard drive failure, does anybody have
any favorite Linux hard drive utilities?  Does the above information mean I
should start looking for deals on new HDs ASAP?
