I've not used that option.  I will give it a try later and see what
happens.  I am booting of a live usb root, so literally nothing has
changed except the motherboard.  I wouldn't think the video card would
be the issue unless there are performance issues with pci-e.  I thought
it might be the sound card.  The new board has HDA audio which isn't
well supported by linux yet.  I put in a different sound card but it
didn't make any difference.
