[mythtv-users] Packet dropped due to uncorrectable error.

Hello All,

I'm new to MythTV, trying to set it up on a PIII-1GHz, 512Mb RAM, 60Gb
HDD system. I have Technotrend S-1401 DVB-S card and I seem to have a
problem setting it up.

The system is running Fedora Core 6 with the latest updates. I think I
have the DVB-S card configured the right way and I have also imported
channels.conf made by scandvb.

The problem is when I try to watch a TV I get a message "Error was
encountered while displaying video". In the frontend logs I see the
following:

2007-05-10 01:24:56.871 TV: Attempting to change from None to WatchingLiveTV
2007-05-10 01:24:56.873 Using protocol version 31

2007-05-10 01:27:17.614 TV: Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None
Destroying SipFsm object

I tried to search on the Net aboout this error and found quite a few
of similar problems with no common solution. Anyway, I checked the
ownership and permissions for '/video' directory. Then I tried to put
it into mythtv-setup with a '/' in the end. Finally, I have also tried
to change it to '/home/mythtv/store' - all with no success.

Backend log showed the following:

2007-05-12 01:00:26.195 MainServer::HandleAnnounce Playback
2007-05-12 01:00:26.250 adding: host-192-168-2-163.starnet.ru as a client (events: 0)
2007-05-12 01:00:26.287 TVRec(1): Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
2007-05-12 01:00:26.292 TVRec(1): HW Tuner: 1->1

2007-05-12 01:00:29.975 Finished recording Unknown: channel 10801
2007-05-12 01:00:30.262 Preview Error: Previewer file '/home/mythtv/store/10801_20070512010027.mpg' is not
valid.
2007-05-12 01:00:31.568 TVRec(1): Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None
2007-05-12 01:00:33.773 Finished recording Unknown: channel 10801

The file actually gets created. But it is empty:

[root at host-192-168-2-163 ~]# cd /home/mythtv/store
[root at host-192-168-2-163 store]# ls -la
total 12
drwxrwxr-x 2 mythtv mythtv 4096 May 12 01:00 .
drwx------ 31 mythtv mythtv 4096 May 12 00:24 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 May 12 01:00 10801_20070512010027.mpg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 May 12 01:00 10801_20070512010029.mpg
-rw-rw-r-- 1 mythtv mythtv 0 May 12 01:00 nfslockfile.lock
[root at host-192-168-2-163 store]#

Then I found a hint to enable verbose logging for mythbackend using
the key '-v record, channel'. Verbose log is quite big, so it's
attached to this mail as a separate file. In there I could see lots of
messages 'Packet dropped due to uncorrectable error.'

And that's where I am now. I can watch TV channels using mplayer
without any problems. But in MythTV I can't get even one.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much in advance!
