[mythtv-users] remote configured but not working

Verify that you did this part:
 
There is a example lircrc config file for myth in svn. See
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/trunk/mythtv/contrib/configfiles/lircrc.n
ative.example.mceusb2 

There is also a semi-regularly updated MCE remote lircrc (and coresponding
lircd) file at http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=8048 

To use this, just copy it to ~/.mythtv/lircrc

Well, I followed these instructions to  configure my remote for my Hauppauge
WinTV PVR-USB2 remote on Ubuntu Feisty

helpful and easy to understand.  However, even though lights are working on
the remote and the IR box, there is nothing happening with the remote
working.  Is there something I can check? I don't know what to do next (and
am a real novice with Linux).  Advice appreciated.
