I have two issues since upgrading my hardware which included a
motherboard with integrated video.

The first is the dreaded

NVP: Timed out waiting for free video buffers

errors. If I don't use GL sync, I don't get these.

The wiki article concerning this error states that this is a software
conflict, however all things being equal this does not happen with my
FX5200. This wouldn't be so much of an issue except that sometimes my
recordings are corrupt enough that myth cannot index it. With GL sync
enabled the files play fine, without the audio is horribly out of sync.

The other issue is, XVMC does not work. The error I get with XVMC
enabled is:

NV-XVMC (ERROR): this XvMC library does not support this chip

Now if ever there was an error message that accurately explained the
problem, this is it. I have found a lot of info suggesting that this
chip is in fact supported since the 87xx series drivers. Can anyone
confirm or deny that the driver does support this card?

I am currently running the 9755 nvidia driver.
