No clue.

I can think of a few things worth trying, though. First, I'd say to
turn debugging on in myth and look through the logs to see what errors
(if any) you see when the video gets choppy. Another thing to try is
recording directly from the device and playing back directly to the
device, bypassing myth entirely. Somebody else on the list is probably
better at debugging choppy video problems than I am, so you might have
luck posting log snippets and version numbers there.
