Considering the size of TV you're going for, a good compromise is
what's most common out there, a 720p set (i.e. native display is still
progressive, not interlaced). I haven't looked at the specs of the
individual sets you listed. I run my 42" Olevia at it's native res
(well, darn close to it, at 1360x768). So myth does the scaling. I
have to admit I'm still not pleased with the result so I'm watching
threads like this for tips as well. For example, which deinterlacing
method might be best for 480i SD content. My eyes might be tricking
me but it seems like Linear Blend is better than Bob2x in this case...
maybe it's the "softening" affect, kinda like anti-aliasing? Either
way, I'm also making the situation a little worse because all my
inputs pass through an up-scaling receiver box (Onkyo SR674). It
doesn't have the best scaler for instance when watching video through
my cable box, but since the Myth box runs close to native res that
_should_ be taking care of that particular variable... i.e. there
shouldn't be much scaling going on there.
