[mythtv-users] About to give up - Avermedia 771 - not sensitive enough for UK DVB?

Hi Tim,

I thought about USB devices when I was looking at building the MythTV box but I didn't like teh fact they'd be just 'hanging around' rather than being away inside the machine.

I may look at that again though as if things eventually start to work well, the plan is to put the MythTV backend in the loft and stream everything to the PC's through a wireless network.

Kind regards,

I've had better results with USB DVB-T than PCI. I've one Nova-T PCI
card and it was OK but the noise it generated upset my TV, even tough
they were fed independently from a two output amp. I've now got a four
output amp (24 from B&Q) with three Freecom USB tuners (~20 each on
ebay). Works well, and is low power.
