[mythtv-users] About to give up - Avermedia 771 - not sensitiveenough for UK DVB?

Hi Stephen,

That was my thinking - it was the aerial, cables etc. It can't be though as the DVB box works fine. It's a new aerial with new positioning to get a better signal.

If the stopping is normal, then I can live with it. My problem was that it would happen in the middle of a recorded program and I'd lose the rest of it! However I've been unable to test that as I can't get MythTV to work reliably!

Kind regards,

I've got two Aver 771 cards and they work well. I have used a TV amp (3 outputs - 1 telly, 2 mythtv), but only an ordinary aerial. Are you sure that your aerial leads etc are okay?

I do occasionally get the stopping in LiveTV maybe once a week or so, recorded programs are fine.

Have you tried the link below for aerial suggestions and coverage.

I've had better results with USB DVB-T than PCI. I've one Nova-T PCI
card and it was OK but the noise it generated upset my TV, even tough
they were fed independently from a two output amp. I've now got a four
output amp (£24 from B&Q) with three Freecom USB tuners (~£20 each on
ebay). Works well, and is low power.
