Yes.  Currently I am using XFS.  No LVM.  Previously I used JFS and
LVM and had the same crashes.

I originally chose jfs for faster deletes.  I went with xfs next to
check if it was jfs causing the problem.  With truncating deletes in
mythtv I suspect there isn't a good reason for me not to try ext3.
I'll probably give that a try then.
