Never say never...
I'm planning on taking the HD plunge come tax time, going with a
front-projection system, driven by myth, for my finished basement, and
a flatscreen upstairs (maybe 2...we'll see).
I will most likely be getting a coulple of modified Dish ViP-211's
from http://www.nextcomwireless.com/r5000/home.htm. Sure...they're
pricey, but I'll get all my available content in HD on a box that I
own and not at the whim of my cable provider. Their myth support
currently leaves something to be desired, but they -are- willing to
work to get it better. The only downside is you have to run a Windoze
box in the middle, as their proprietary software only runs there.
Personally, I have no problems with that, so I expect my myth
experience to carry over indefinately.
For those of you adding this up on your fingers (and toes...and...),
yes, I expect a large refund. :-)
