I like to shadow ( watch shows while recording ) my recordings. I
usually start watching about 15 or 20 minutes after the show starts.
For example on Tuesday nights I watch Bones ( 720p ) and before I am
done watching, The Unit ( 1080i ) starts recording on my KWORLD-110 (
both shows are recorded on from the KWORLD tuner ). And normally this
works fine, until this week.
For whatever reason while I was watching Bones, The Unit failed to
record. MythTv seems to think it was recorded. It creates an entry in
the database and I can see it in my list of recorded programs. But
there is no file on the file system. The backend log show that it
started recording the program, but there are no errors indicating that
it failed the record.
2007-11-13 21:00:04.425 Started recording: The Unit "Play 16": channel

2007-11-13 22:00:00.832 TVRec(1): Changing from RecordingOnly to None
2007-11-13 22:00:01.000 TVRec(2): Changing from RecordingOnly to None
2007-11-13 22:00:01.039 Finished recording The Unit "Play 16": channel 3121
At that point I didn't do anything on the box. I didn't restart the
backend or reboot. The next night it failed to record Bionic Woman and
Life. After I discovered that I rebooted the box and all was back to
normal. It recorded Smallville on Thursday. But I got home on Thursday
about 8:30 and started to watch Smallville while it was recording. When
it started to record CSI it did them same thing. It added an entry to
the database and I could see it in my recorded programs but there was no
file on the file system.
I'm not sure what's causing the problem. Does it have to do with me
shadowing my recordings? Is it a file system problem?
There are no errors in the messages log to indicate a hardware problem.
And this doesn't happen on the PVR500. It just keeps recording.
I haven't made any changes to the box in over a month. And even then
the change was only a new hard drive that I added into my Myth volume
group. I haven't updated the software since .20-2 was released.
BOX Config:
1 KWORLD-110
1 PVR500 ( /dev/video1 and /dev/video2 )
1 160GB SATA HDD
1 1TB SATA HDD
(although both these drives support SATAII the board only supports SATA)
.20.2 atRPM packages upgrading a MythDora4 install.
