My suggestion would be to go back into mythtvsetup and select 'Delete
all capture cards' on the Capture Cards page. Re-add your card(s)
making sure your ivtv-based PVR card is configured as a hardware
MPEG-2 card (and leave the audio settings alone).

If this doesn't help, please list the capture cards you have in the
machine and the version of ivtv that you are using.

Do you have any channel-change/capture card scripts being called when
recordings start that may be interfering with the ivtv driver?
