[mythtv-users] LiveTV Fails To Start Because of Recordings? How Do I Resolve?

what should the permissions be or where can I change the directory for recording? I remember seeing it somewhere, but I can't remember where.

I'll look into upgrading ivtv and the firmware. I guess I'll have to recompile every time there is a upgrade of the kernel sources in my distribution right?

 Thanks again.

IVTV is installed - version 1.0.0
That's good. Have you checked things like permissions on the recording directory to be sure that the user you are running the backend as has permissions to write to that folder? I keep my recordings out of /var/ for these kinds of reasons.

Also, the errors about MPEG-1 seem very strange in your logs. My IVTV version is 0.10.5. You may want to try updating your IVTV as I don't recognize that version numbering. You can get the package from atrpms.net and other places or just download the source from ivtvdriver.org and install.

My gut says your IVTV driver isn't right
