[mythtv-users] Recording starts, lirc stops - why?

On the computer where I have a frontend and a slave backend, when I
start recording on the PVR-500 on that machine, it stops recognizing
any button presses from the remote until the recording stops.  MythFE
responds fine to keyboard commands.  Any suggestions on what to look
for as a cause?

Homebrew serial sensor on IRQ4/3f8, ivtv reported on IRQ 16 and 17.  I
read a message in the archives about closed captioning causing the
same problem for another person, but it still happens when I turn it
off in mythtv-setup.
