I generally want my box to reschedule higher priority shows in order
to get some other show recorded that it normally wouldn't, except in
the case of The Daily Show and Colbert Report. I ALWAYS want to watch
those just after they broadcast at 8pm PST, so I've left the
reschedule higher priority shows option set but set those two
programs to record every day in that time slot and pushed the
priority way up beyond any other show. I also do this with the couple
of HD shows I watch regularly so it doesn't get rescheduled to a non-
HD channel later in the week. I find this combination suits my needs
best and from the sounds of it, it might be a good solution for you,
too.
