[mythtv-users] Latest radeon drivers broke vga->tv

Hi,
I've just made the huge mistake of updating my media centre pc (a
advent DHE-500) from ubuntu feisty to mythbuntu gutsy. After fighting
wifi network startup and a few PEBCAKs, I am now stuck on getting tv
out. Svideo doesn't seem to work at all, but it might be the cable
which I haven used for years. I've also seen a couple of posts that
imply that SVideo PAL is broken for the xorg ati driver, including
this bug entry - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12007.

But the worst is that my finely tuned modelines for my Samsung PAL
16:9 TV no longer work, it seems they are interpreted differently from
the previous driver versions. I have a ATI Radeon X300, that came with
the pc, and a home built VGA to SCART cable, that works fine.
I don't know if it is because the updated driver decides to ignore the
"NoDDC" and "IgnoreEDID" "On" entries in xorg.conf, or because
suddenly modelines have whole different meanings, I just know I can't
get a visible output on my tv. I have included the xorg.conf that
worked well with my previous installation on this machine, in hope
that someone might have seen this problem and been able to surpass or
work around it.
