Wow. I guess they figure that any machine into which someone would put
an 8x00-series card would be high-enough spec'ed to do software
decoding. Either that or they're working on another API (kind of like
Intel seems to be going in their own non-standard direction for video
decoding support).
IMHO, we really need the GLSL-based decoding so we can have a standard
card/driver-independent approach for even the high-end hardware.
