It was a problem with ivtv and closed captioning. Maybe only on 64bit
machines even? I ran into this and solved it by turning off the
closed captioning on my PVR-150 card. Supposedly it's been fixed by
newer ivtv modules, but since I didn't use it, I never turned CC back
on.
