I knew I shouldn't have put that one in.

You're correct of course, and the SAE even supervises HP tests now.

Guess I'm thinking of back in the days when brake horsepower at the
flywheel numbers were tossed around with the same abandon as the "IHF
Music Power" of a stereo amp.
