Interesting.  I've never had this problem with my M10000.  In fact, I  
don't think I've ever seen it hang.

If it's temperature sensitive, have you considered improving the  
motherboard cooling?  My board has a chipset heatsink, but it's  
awfully easy to block the airflow to it when packing IDE cables into  
the tiny case I use.  Makes me wish for SATA and its skinny cables. ;)

The only problem I've noticed is after it's been up for a month or  
so, I start to get glitches in my MPEG2 recordings.  When I reboot,  
the problem goes away.  I've suspected buggy ivtv drivers or a subtle  
hardware issue with my encoder card, but it hasn't annoyed me enough  
to troubleshoot further.  I suspect it appeared after a kernel  
upgrade, which suggests it may disappear after a future one, but it's  
hard to remember what triggered a problem that takes a month to  
manifest itself.
