As others have said not currently. There is a plugin called
mythstreamtv to do this, but I've never tried it.

> 2. Will I be able to schedule recordings, delete recordings from a mythtv frontend? This is my likely set up based on research.
> My frontend of choice will be a P3 900 MHZ with 100% passive cooling and a 1 gig "flash" hard drive for actual local booting but no local media storage (all that's done on backend) and a DVD-RW drive. Software will be mythbuntu.

Yes all this is possible and part of the basic functionality of the
MythTV. 900 MHZ will be too slow for HDTV even with XVMC working but
it should be fast enough for standard def.

> 3. Can I control the frontends Solely with a remote control? Or do I need a keyboard?

Yes, I do. There's an onscreen keyboard for text entry, and when I
need to do maintenance I ssh into the box.

> 4. Dvd ripping. Let's say I go one of my mythtv frontends. And load a dvd. Can I rip it to the server from there? Can I burn a copy of it once its ripped on another frontend machine.

Currently on .20.2 if you want to burn a dvd on a frontend you'll need
to install a slave backend on the frontend machine and mount the
recordings directory in the same location it's mounted on the backend.

> 5. Will I be able to burn a music playlist to a cd from a frontend machine?

Don't know.

> 6. Will it be reliable??

If your hardware is stable, once you get everything set up properly it
should be stable.

It was supposed to be so Easy.
