Rudy suggested H.264 so this is what I will need, because I do want to receive 
BBC HD.

BBC Prime would be sufficient, too, but I presume BBC Prime is not HDTV.

For my location, BBC Prime is better because it requires 70cm satellite dish, 
while BBC intended for UK (free to air) requires a 2m satellite dish at my 
location.
