Yep - locked at 48000 even after a reboot. But the recordings are still
chipmunked.

I'm convinced that it's a recording, not a playback issue. I just tried
playing one of the recordings via mplayer on a different system. Still
chipmunked.

Servers were rebooted before a new recording started. That's the one I
tested.  mplayer says:

AUDIO: 48000 Hz, 2 ch, s16le, 384.0 kbit/25.00% (ratio: 48000->192000)
Selected audio codec: [mp3] afm: mp3lib (mp3lib MPEG layer-2, layer-3)
==========================================================================
AO: [alsa] 48000Hz 2ch s16le (2 bytes per sample)

so I don't know what's going on... is anyone else experiencing this with
Centos5 and PVR-150/250 cards?  Looks like it's happening with 2 PVR-150
cards is separate backends connected to Analog cable, and one PVR-250 in
one of the boxes connected via RCA to a DCT-2000 box...

Same DB as when I was using FC5...
