Unpatched QT 3.3.8? There's a known bug in that version of QT that
causes Myth programs to crash. It's of no consequence to
mythfilldatabase (or mythfrontend or mythbackend), but it may be an
issue for your mythfilldb.sh script. (BTW, why aren't you just letting
the backend do the SD thing for you?)

IMHO, no. You should be using the internal grabber (which gives you
more info, anyway). (Until you can provide a reason why you can't use
it, that's my position. :)

Improper arguments to mythfilldatabase? Can't tell without seeing the
details of your approach (which I don't want to see if you can use the
internal grabber :).
For the overly-sensitive types on the list, the OP is using
tv_grab_na_dd, which is using SD, so I'm not "forcing a poor
unsuspecting soul to feed the evil machine." I'm just saying he should
use the built-in support for SD.
