What Brad says is true, but be aware that Mythtv sequences the jobs to
run one at a time for a given recording, no matter how many cores you
have: e.g. you want to comm-flag, transcode, and run 2 user jobs (4
'jobs' total) on recording "A" once it is complete. A 4-core box will
run these four tasks sequentially (not simultaneously), so it will
complete in roughly the same time as a single core box.
