Here's me using the HDHR pickup alone:

1. Set up the HDHR: 
  hdhomerun_config 192.168.0.20 set /ir/target "192.168.0.88:5000 no_clear"

2. Start lircd:
  lircd -H udp -d 5000

That's all. irw shows button presses from essentially every
remote I've configured.
