Maybe I'm not reading you correctly, or perhaps I'm asking a
particularly stupid question.  Have you looked into just removing
lowering the mast, doing your repair work on the ground, and lifting
the assembly back up as one piece?  Or is your mast assembly a good
deal more complicated than a typical aluminum pole kind of thing?
