Other options are things like receivers that will down convert
Component to S-Video/Composite or VGA splitters.  You can take the One
of the ports from the VGA splitter and port it into your HDTV, and
take another and port it into a VGA-Composite adapter.

Ultimately, I would probably find it considerably cheaper to build a
smaller, non-HD capable MythTV system than to purchase all the
cabling/adapters/converts/receivers to accomplish this.
