Actually, I love Mythtv because I like shows that run in January
(eclectic tastes) and I find that the shows I like aren't mainstream
and so get moved around timeslots without notice. Mythtv picks up
the changes in the guide automatically and it's all good.
Actually I am contemplating buying a third tuner:
- I usually program recordings to start 3-5 mins before and end
5-10 mins after (my shows not being mainstream sometimes get bumped
out by late night news updates or something else, but the start time
in the guide stays the same)
- This is fine with two tuners as you can handle the overlap
- The problem occurs when you want to record a second channel at
the same time. You can't have an overlap because the other tuner is
in use. Then, because shows always tend to run late (why is that
anyway?) I miss the end of shows, or I have to look at the show I
recorded after for the rest of the show. This is not good on the
wife acceptance factor!
- So, I want a third tuner to get the overlap on one channel while
recording the second
