I'm not sure I follow? I don't use folder.jpg at all. But in similar
situations in my db if in Gallery mode(or whatever that one is called) it
does show the video thumbnail from the first file it finds in that
subdirectory. Your's doesn't exhibit the same behavior?

For subtitle files I just have .sub or .srt ignored in DB, and leave on
same FS. I never see it in list mode then...
